“In the course of time, Absalom provided himself with a chariot and horses and with fifty men to run ahead of him. He would get up early and stand by the side of the road leading to the city gate. Whenever anyone came with a complaint to be placed before the king for a decision, Absalom would call out to him, “What town are you from?” He would answer, “Your servant is from one of the tribes of Israel.” Then Absalom would say to him, “Look, your claims are valid and proper, but there is no representative of the king to hear you.” And Absalom would add, “If only I were appointed the judge in the land! Then everyone who has a complaint or case could come to me and I would see that they receive justice.” Also, whenever anyone approached him to bow down before him, Absalom would reach out his hand, take hold of him and kiss him. Absalom behaved in this way toward all the Israelites who came to the king asking for justice, and so he stole the hearts of the people of Israel.”
2 Samuel 15:1-6
Absalom schemed a wicked plan and stationed himself at the gate to the king with an agenda. He would stay there and divert people who were going to see the king.
King David was a God appointee. God had made Him His mouthpiece and located Him there with a purpose. Absalom, however, discredited him an presented himself as the only one who could give justice …Absalom was a man who would divert people from accessing the Person God had positioned as His mouthpiece.. Be careful with people who discredit Fathers and pastors and present themselves as alternatives..
Dear Absalom , You cannot compete with David.David is God’s choice. You appointed yourself…
Absalom will block you from reaching the throne. He sits at the gate and promises a throne favor. Don’t be fooled…
Absalom later schemed to attack his father David and made David run for his life..he was daring enough to pursue him.
It is wisdom to know that chasing your father doesn’t make you a champion.. It rather makes you a failure.. A looser .To his peers , Absalom looked like a hero probably and sure he had a following.. Some guys even advised him to have sex with his Father’s concubines in public which he faithfully did. What a brave man… Daring even his father’s ten lovers….You cannot correct a father by rebellion….
Pushing your father or pastor to run away and to tears is not a tick…its actually a loss…Its is a bravity and confidence I’ll advice you not to have….
You’d rather be labeled coward….
Absalom died and lacked descendants. He never had an offspring. He died prematurely…. His father mourned his death.Naturally, sons should outlive fathers since they continue with the assignment….
When you chase your father ,its not courage ,its foolishness.. Anytime your father is panting as a result of your chase and bleeding as a result of you pierce, don’t give a testimony. Life is oozing out of you
The Absalomic confidence will make you die prematurely… Your projects may not stand for long..Absalom died!!
Absalom lacked an offspring… He was equal to an impotent person.he mentored no one.He handed over to no one.he blessed no one.he was not willing to be submissive to his father he lacked sons to inherit from him…
Now Absalom in his lifetime had taken and set up for himself a memorial pillar which is in the King’s Valley, for he said, “I have no son to keep my name in remembrance.” He named the memorial pillar after himself, and to this day it is called Absalom’s Monument.
2 SAMUEL 18:18
-May You never have a pillar for a son
– may God give you someone to carry your name
– may you never chase your father
– may you never have the Absalomic courage.
God bless you…
